True North - a project to promote authentic products from the Nordic Countries
The selection for these companies and their products focused on:
+ Made, created and / or designed in the Nordic countries
+ craft scale (non-industrial) production of high quality goods
+ regional roots and production with sustainable and socially responsible philosophy
While we will not create a label or demand the highest level on current adaption to the entire scope of requirements mentioned above, we will encourage all selected partners to move into that direction, as far as they are not already live up to these values.
The core message of all products is in quality, regional rooting and traditional values of the North, such as a close link to nature and authentic, reliable and lasting produce.
The scale of the production is not a limitation, yet the companies involved share the character of either start-up, or a long tradition of manufacturing on a historic or traditional site or in such a region. Obviously, we do not expect companies well established in international markets to be a part in this project, as they do not need that promotion, and usually produce on a large scale and in many countries.
Our aim is to support new ideas as well as businesses which believe in "small is beautiful" scales and on quality and craft-style production rather then industrial-shape growth.
Our main measures will be to present the companies in modern means of media and, depending on each partner's wished, create direct sales or distributor relations.
